Context
On 3–4 November 2026 Salvadoran helicopters fired in Croix-des-Bouquets to repel an attack on Chadian GSF soldiers, according to El Salvador's president and local press; on 2 November Salvadoran armoured units had carried out their first large ground operation in the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac, where at least a dozen gang members were reported killed. A Haitian organisation (UNA-Haïti) wrote to the UN on 28 October alleging helicopter fire had killed civilians in Croix-des-Bouquets — the GSF and El Salvador deny it — and MSF counts 30 civilians wounded by gunfire or explosions between 18 and 26 October.
